SECURE THE HUMANS

Assessment.
Policy.
Education.

We strive to provide law firms with the tools to promote a culture of security by assessing information assets, drafting and implementing information security policies, and educating the people in your firm on the best practices for security behavior.

YOUR OWN PEOPLE ARE THE WEAKEST LINK IN YOUR FIRM'S SECURITY.
DON'T BE YOUR OWN GREATEST THREAT.

Our Mission

INFORMATION SECURITY BEHAVIOR FOR SOLO AND SMALL LAW FIRMS

Most jurisdictions have adopted professional responsibility standards that require technological competence. It is our mission to educate the legal profession about the importance of modifying law firm behavior in order to create a culture of security to protect client confidentiality, secure law firm information and preserve the viability of the legal profession against the inherent threats of the information technology age. These threats are constantly evolving. Having a well-educated law firm on security behavior best practices is the best defense against these evolving threats.

Over 95 percent of all incidents investigated recognize “human error” as a contributing factor.

Ring of Security

Security isn't achieved with hardware and software alone. The humans must be educated to be the last line of defense.

You've done all the front-end work. Your firm has hired the best IT firm to provide you with the best front-end security that your firm can afford. Unfortunately, all that time, effort and money can be undone with one click of the mouse. Don't let it happen to you. Get your firm educated on information security behavior and arm the people you depend on with the knowledge required to run a secure law office.

WHAT WE DO

Assessment.

Do you know what your information assets are? Do you know what behaviors are creating a security risk? Do you know what are the greatest threats to your information security?

We come to your firm to learn the technology that you use in your firm, conduct an information assets audit, and assess where the vulnerabilities are and what can be done to secure them.

Policy.

What is your policy on passwords? Mobile devices? Backups of firm files? Access to firm files while remote? Social network interactions? E-mail policy? What are the steps to take in the event of  the termination of an employee? Or in the event of a security breach?

If your firm does not have a written information security policy (ISP) we can help. ISPs serve as the framework for a law firm culture of information security. We provide customized ISPs to fit the way your firm operates and the technology used by your firm.

Education.

So you already know your firm's information assets. Your firm also has an ISP in place. Then your firm is already doing better than most. However, the final step you need to do is educate your firm's employees on the behavior that is expected of them in order to secure the law firm's information.

Lawyers have a professional responsibility to be reasonably competent in the risks and benefits of technology. We provide your firm with customized education and training so that everyone in your firm understands what's expected of them, is able to identify threats, and how to respond to potential threats to information security.

We provide:

  • initial training and implementation seminars/webinars to law firms to educate everyone in the firm on information security behavior standards along with the content of the firms ISP.
  • ongoing annual information security updates to address the rapid changes within the industry as well as provide new employee onboarding.

Information security best practices can change rapidly, so we also have packages to provide regular annual information security updates as well as new employee on-boarding for end-user security behavior policies.
